In 2018, a vision was born-a vision to build not just structures, but legacies.
Community Solutions by Design (CSBD) began as the brainchild of a group of passionate Tennessee State University Alum, led by founder Jonathan Clark, who saw an opportunity to merge architecture and engineering with the power of community growth and sustainability.
What started as a small firm in Nashville, Tennessee, has evolved into a thriving company with projects across industries, each new venture as a chapter in our story, another step forward towards fulfilling the mission.

Our History
2018
CSBD LLC ESTABLISHED TN Office Established
In 2018, after gaining licensure and a deep understanding of the field, CEO Jonathan Clark reached out to a group of TSU alumni, forming the core team that launched CSBD in Nashville, TN. Together the firm began its journey to provide sustainable and communiy-focused design solutions.
2019
GA Office Established
By 2019, CSBD expanded its footprint when Jonathan relocated to Georgia, securing their first educational project with Rise Charter School (GA) . Alongside this success, CSBD worked on projects like Siloam Health (TN) and contributed to the Civil Rights Training Center at Highlander (GA), solidifying its impact on both hospitality and community-driven initiatives.
2021
MBE Registration
In 2021, CSBD received its MBE certification, enabling us to assist suppliers of diversity meet company goals and marking a milestone in its growth and recognition.
2022
Internal Expansion
The following year marked a significant milestone for CSBD, as the team took on the exciting challenge of working on Concourse D at Nashville’s BNA Airport. This high-profile project not only expanded their expertise in complex public infrastructure but also fueled internal growth, leading to the onboarding of their first employees—a pivotal step in the company’s journey.

CSBD Secures Nissan Stadium Contract
2023 was a landmark year, as CSBD was awarded a project with the Nissan Stadium in collaboration with TVS Architects and Manica. CSBD is to assist with public assembly and future use for ONE community.
2024
Omohundro and KR Reclamation Plants
By 2024, CSBD’s momentum showed no signs of slowing down, winning a significant project with OMO Reclamation Facilities, showcasing their expanding portfolio and commitment to innovation in both design and community infrastructure. Today, CSBD stands strong with a team of passionate professionals, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of architecture, engineering, and community solutions.
